How to get ready for spring cleaning
How to get ready for spring cleaning

If you're reading this, it's because you already know that you'll be tackling spring cleaning this year.
And you want to prepare ahead of time!
Good news, it's possible to take action now to make your spring cleaning easier and faster!

By being ahead of the game, you can :

- Make sure you have all the materials you need ;
- Discuss with your partner and children (if applicable) in advance how to divide the chores ;
- Check off a few tasks on your list ahead of time!

This year, Johnny Vac challenges you to donate what you no longer want to keep to charity. Clothing, objects, furniture, and even food. These donations help people in need and would be greatly appreciated in your community.

Two different approaches

Being aware that there are several schools of thought, we will propose today two different approaches to cleaning to prepare ahead of time: one of the conventional type and the second will be completely natural.
For both approaches, the first task is to make sure you have all the products and equipment necessary to do your spring cleaning.

Conventional Approach

Here's what you'll need:

- Microfiber Cloths
- Sponges
- Chamois Leather
- A brush (like this one!)
- Cleaning and disinfecting product for contact surfaces
- A product for cleaning windows
- A product for cleaning bathrooms
- A degreasing product
- Gloves
- A vacuum cleaner
- A mop
- A bucket
- Garbage Bags

You can also equip yourself with more products such as:

- A squeegee/wiper kit to make your window cleaning job easier and more efficient
- A carpet cleaner
- A feather duster

To make your life easier, Johnny Vac has put together a handy set of products and equipment to do your spring cleaning: The Spring Kit!

- A glass and multi-surface cleaner (EcoLogo Certified)
- An all-purpose tangerine cleaner and degreaser (EcoLogo Certified)
- A scrubbing brush
- 3 all-purpose microfiber cloths
- 3 microfiber cloths for cleaning windows

Natural Approach

The essential products for cleaning using only natural products are the following:

- Water
- Microfiber Cloths
- Vinegar
- Baking Soda
- Salt
- Lemon Juice
- Marseille Soap
- Black Soap

Start cleaning now!

Want to start some of your spring cleaning tasks right away?
Here are two tasks you can start right away.

Sorting out your clothes

Empty your drawers and closets and make three piles:

- First pile: I'm keeping it!
- Second pile: I don't know yet!
- Third pile: I donate it ♻️

Sorting out your pantry

Empty your shelves and determine what you want to keep, what is expired and what you would like to donate to your local food bank. They will be very happy to receive your donations.

The idea is to make room and have more space when it comes to spring cleaning. Making sure you have all the necessary products and equipment and that you don't have any unwanted items in the house will save you a lot of time and energy this year.

Have fun preparing!
